Flourish in February 2014

Dear Precious Ladies

Wow the first month of 2014 is gone. How was your month?

Am sure there are several answers to this question but what matters is who is with us in the journey to the next month. January 2014 will never come again, whether good or bad. I want to encourage you not to camp there, but move on.

On the 18th of January I was privileged to speak at The Flourish Women's conference hosted by Victory Gospel Church in Southampton UK. This was attended by ladies from all walks of life. It was a life changing experience and a great time of fellowship and relationship building. The Lord blessed us indeed. I would like to share with you a few snippets from this conference.

The word flourish means living life well. Some of its synonyms are: to increase and enlarge, to thrive in growth, to multiply, to be prosperous, to develop and expand, to reach a desired level of accomplishment, to be very influential and to be blessed. In the account of creation in Genesis 1:26-28 God created both male and female and blessed them. After blessing them He said 'be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth...' To multiply is to flourish. It is to increase and to enlarge. God's plan and desire for you is to flourish. He desires that you may live life well and accomplish all He has in store for you in this new year that He has given us. Flourishing is not optional!!

Jesus has already paid the price for every woman to excel and be very influential. God wants us to flourish both internally and externally. 3 John 2 states that 'beloved my wish above all is that you may prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers.' The word prosper is the same as flourish. That means the condition of your soul matters if you are to flourish and make a difference. What we harbour in our hearts and minds is a catalyst or hindrance to our flourishing. A healthy soul is a prerequisite to living life well.

Another important factor is the motive and purpose of our flourishing. In Psalm 73 David saw the wicked flourish and they were boasting and proud but in Psalm 92 we see the righteous flourishing in order to show that the Lord is righteous. The end result of our flourishing should be to glorify God and bless mankind. The means of our flourishing should not be corrupt because that will be blown away.

As we proceed into February and beyond, I pray  that we may all flourish in every area of our lives. That we receive the grace to maintain a healthy soul. I am praying for you and am believing God for a better year for us all. Happy February to you all!!

Much love and blessings
